GaelPro is a service for those broadcasting in Irish on radio stations throughout Ireland, also providing information for the whole Irish language community about the programmes available to them in their own localities. As part of the service, GaelPro will provide weekly updates about events, broadcasting-related news and the main stories affecting the Irish language community. There will be an emphasis on publicising Irish-language programmes being broadcast across the country; on commercial, local, national and community stations.

The GaelPro service was provided by Cogar until 2014. In conjunction with Comhdháil Náisiúnta na Gaeilge and with support from Coimisiún na Meán, Raidió na Life agreed to relaunch the service as a digital platform for news stories and as an information resource for those broadcasting in Irish across the country.
An tOireachtas commenced operation of the service on St Patrick’s Day 2020.

An tOireachtas
An tOireachtas is a lead organization in the Irish Language sector with responsibility for ‘Organising & Promoting Events as Gaeilge & Establishing Irish Language Networks. The annual calendar of events includes the Oireachtas Media Awards, Literary & Publishing
Competitions and a series of sporting, cultural and arts events. Oireachtas na Samhna, the national arts & culture festival is our annual showcase event and features the best of sean-nós (traditional old style) performing arts. An tOireachtas receives core-funding from Foras na Gaeilge.
Coimisiún na Meán
Coimisiún na Meán has been established further to the provisions of the Online Safety and Media Regulation Act 2022 (“OSMR Act 2022”).The OSMR Act 2022 was enacted on 10 December 2022. The OSMR Act 2022 amended the Broadcasting Act 2009 to establish Coimisiún na Meán and dissolve the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland (“BAI”).
In addition to undertaking the functions of the BAI as the regulator for broadcasting in Ireland, Coimisiún na Meán is to establish a regulatory framework for online safety, update the regulation of television broadcasting and audiovisual on-demand services, and transpose the revised Audiovisual Media Services Directive into Irish law.
